About Birmingham School of Law

 

 

Birmingham School of Law is a state accredited law school in Birmingham, Alabama with over 500 students. The school was founded in 1915 by Judge Hugh A. Locke. Judge Locke was a judge of the Chancery Court and president of the Birmingham Bar Association. 

 

BSL is not accredited by the American Bar Association and is not seeking accreditation from the ABA. The school is accredited by the State of Alabama through the  Alabama Legislature and the Alabama Supreme Court. Graduates receive the Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, and are eligible to set for the Alabama Bar Exam.

 

Classes are held nights and on weekends and all instructors are licensed, practicing attorneys. The schedule facilitates obtaining a law degree while working and the instruction has much more practical application than traditional law schools.
